Trobajo del Camino
Trobajo del Camino is the suburb you enter into after crossing the pedestrian bridge across the railway line. Although there was a settlement here in Roman times, it gets its name from a 10th century Jewish local land owner called Jacob Trepalio. As with many Camino towns Trobajo celebrates its feast day on the feast of Saint James (July 25th) when a statue of Saint James is taken from the small hermitage of Santiago you pass on the right side of the road. The hermitage dates from 1711 but was built on the site of the original medieval hermitage which like many such hermitages also acted as an albergue.
