Villavante

☕ Bar / Café 🛒 Groceries ⚕️ Pharmacy

The road to Villavante is very long, straight and flat and passes alongside a fenced agricultural research area. This is one of the longest stretches on the Camino without any facilities. There are also few trees and bushes, so it is worthwhile visiting the bathroom before starting this stretch.

As with many villages on the Camino the temptation is to stop at the most westward bar (i.e. the first) which in Villavante is the Albergue Santa Lucía which is a fine place to stop. However, I often believe the second bar is often less crowded and must work harder for your business. In common with many small villages the bakery in Villavante also acts as a small grocery store and will make up an excellent sandwich for you to take away for your lunch.
