Zabaldika

☕ Bar / Café 🛒 Groceries ⚕️ Pharmacy

Zabildika can be quite confusing but relax as it is very much a case of all roads lead to Pamplona. As you enter Zabaldika you will see a sign to turn right to the 13th century parish church of San Esteban and a sign to turn left to carry on the main Camino. To confuse matters even further you can just carry straight ahead and walk alongisde the N-135.

If you take right detour you will have to cross the N-135 to enter the main part of Zabildika. The church has one of the oldest church bells in Spain and the nuns who run the parish albergue will sometimes let you ring the bell. If you do take the detour in to Zabildika there is an alternative path above the N-135 which rejoins the main Camino at a hamlet called Arleta.

If you turn left and follow the main Camino you avoid walking along side the N-135. Instead you have a small walk by the river again and meet up and cross the N-135 just by a nice rest area.

You will have to cross the N-135 to the rest area. The rest area has toilets. Follow the path from the rest area up in towards hills. This path follows the side of the river and leads you through an underpass to the PA-30 and out eventually by the bridge over the river Ulzama at Trinidad de Arre.

There is an alternative route in to Pamplona by following the N-135 from the rest area in to the suburb of Huarte which has a municpal albergue.
