HISTORY: Ibañeta marks the summit. A modern chapel has replaced the earlier chapel of Charlemagne. A sign in French, Spanish and Basque invites pilgrims to pray to Our Lady of Roncesvalles. Monument to Roland. This is where the variant of the Route Napoléon re-joins the Camino.
