Just before you reach O Cebreiro, you enter the fourth and last Autonomous Region traversed by the Camino Francés: Galicia (province of Lugo). Galicia has its own language, Gallego (a sister language to Portuguese), and signs are often in this rather than Castilian.

The albergues in Galicia run by the Xunta of Galicia usually open at 16:00 or earlier, at 13:00, in high season. There is a local paid warden and whilst there may be a kitchen very few have a supply of pans. The standard charge is 8€. A disposable bed sheet and pillow case is provided but blankets are not. They may allow a second night stay, if space is available.
